Whenever someone shows cool imaginitive 2-D animation in the style popular in the 60s and 70s someone comments “they were on drugs”. If you want drug influenced animation √ out Charlie the Unicorn. Seriously, some people are just artistic. Some people create trippy images because they’re beautiful. I’m only saying this because I’m tired of people always insulting art (even commercial art) because it’s from an era when people put their heart’s into their work. There’s too much cynicism.
rahree is right, Peter Max had nothing to do with Yellow Submarine, it was Heinz Edelmann and Milton Glaser,
I agree. You don’t have to be on any kind of drug to appreciate and/or create this kind of art.
I remember this commercial and thinking..SO BIZARRE..
There is another psychedelic Bit-O-Honey commercial circa 1974 with some glow yellow guy in a ten gallon hat that is psychedelic and striking in its colors, but it has not been posted on you-tube and I have no idea where to find it
@rahree oh, sorry. somebody told me he animated the yellow submarine. thx for letting me know.
peter max animated the yellow submarine (1968), but i’m not sure about belladonna of sadness.
Thank you.
Peter Max did not animate either, I’m sorry to say. It is a common misconception that Peter Max was behind “Yellow Submarine”. He mostly does advertisements. I would love for him to make an animated movie.
Nice things start when you stop smoking cigs and start smoking pot.
